What is the Midas Cocktail Diamond Ring?
The most mysterious, over the top, indiscreet and work-of-art ring I have ever made.
No, there is nothing wrong with your screen, nor there is anything wrong with the image. This is how it looks in reality, a tromp-l’oeil in a gem. The central gem is a clear quartz with pyrite (fool’s gold) inclusions, carved by famous Tom Munsteiner in a way so that the stone has mirror effects: This means that when you move your hand, it looks like different pieces of gold are moving within the stone.
I was fascinated with this central stone, so I tried to extend it in the rest of the ring – adding cognac diamonds next to the darker inclusions, white diamonds or yellow sapphires, where the inclusion was more gold-ish.
The result? A ring that gives you the feeling of opulence, the ultimate golden touch.
